I decided I was going to complete the challenge of reading Daughters in My Kingdom in the time frame the stake gave us. I am so grateful that I did! I have always been grateful for the Relief Society, but this book made me really appreciate my membership in this divinely inspired organization. I am amazed and in awe of the women I read about in this history.
From the time frame of Nauvoo, to World War II, to our present day—these women of the Relief Society have done “extraordinary” things as Emma Smith said they would do. And I am so glad to be a part of this awesome legacy.
I also recognize that I have the privilege and responsibility to continue this heritage. On the last page of the book it states that “now it is our turn to serve and write a chapter on the pages of Relief Society’s history.” I am ready and willing, and by so doing know that my service will aid me in becoming more of whom my Heavenly Father wants me to become. Thanks for the challenge!
